Long-Term Training Course on Youth Participation and Youth Policy Turkey 2011 - 2012
The Council of Europe and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Turkey organise a long-term training course on the topics of youth participation and youth policy development. The aim of the course is to develop participants’ competences in enhancing youth participation in Turkey and in European projects and to stimulate co-operation between different actors in the youth field in Turkey for youth policy development and implementation.

Note: This call is open only for residents of one of the parties to the European Cultural Convention other than Turkey. Residents of Turkey interested in this call should apply directly to Ministry of Youth and Sports of Turkey.
The Council of Europe and the Ministry of Youth and Sports of Turkey organise a long-term training course on the topics of youth participation and youth policy development. The aim of the course is to develop participants’ competences in enhancing youth participation in Turkey and in European projects and to stimulate co-operation between different actors in the youth field in Turkey for youth policy development and implementation.
The LTTC will include the following phases:
- 23-30 October 2011, a 6-day training course on youth policy and youth participation, with a particular focus on the Turkish translation of the revised Charter on Youth Participation in Local and Region al Life (hereinafter the Charter) and of the Manual “Have Your Say!”
- E-learning activities, from October 2011 until the second residential course in 2012;
- Educational support for the development of participants’ projects, from October 2011 until the second residential course in 2012;
- 2012, the second residential training seminar, planned to take place in the European Youth Centre Strasbourg, France (dates to be confirmed).
The first residential course will be held from 23 to 30 October 2011 in Ankara (Turkey). The participants should plan to arrive on 23 October and to depart on 30 October.
The course will bring together 30 participants, of which 25 will be from Turkey.
All participants should:
- Be youth workers, youth leaders or civil servants actively working in youth organisations or youth services;
- Have already experiences in projects related to youth participation and/or youth policy in their realities;
- Be motivated and interested in exploring the concept of youth participation and youth policy and ready to share their experiences and knowledge with other participants;
- Be in a position to multiply the experience gained during the course in their realities, particularly through networking and follow-up activities with partners from Turkey;
- Be supported by a youth organisation, state institution or other body, that will ensure their support for the participant’s participation and initiatives (participants need to attach to their application a support letter from this organisation);
- Have basic skills of using online learning;
- Be available for the full duration of the course, including the 2 residential seminars (in October 2011, in Ankara, and in 2012, dates and venue to be confirmed), e-learning activities (all candidates must fulfil at least 75% of the e-learning assignment from October until the second residential course);
- Be able to work in English;
- Be residents in one of the parties to the European Cultural Convention other than Turkey;
- Be preferably between 18 – 35 years of age.
Knowledge of Turkish language is an added value for the candidates.
